Well here we go! Dessert Girls - review/blog post #1. How many times have you wanted just one specific dessert? So you go to a restuarant only to find either they don't have it on the menu or they do, but they don't make it well; this blog will hopefully stop that.
Adventure #1 brought us to Bravo! They have several different desserts on the menu. NY Style Cheesecake with Strawberries, Chocolate Lava Cake, Creme Brulee, Chocolate Chip Bread topped with vanilla ice cream, Tiramisu, and a seasonal dessert: this is a white chocolate pudding with season fruites mixed in topped with whip cream. Now you can order these in full sizes or in small sample sizes - this comes in threes.
Of course we ordered three different, full size desserts: the Chocolate Lave Cake, the Creme Brulee, and the Seasonal Dessert.
Chocolate Lava Cake: All three of us LOVE chocolate; so ordering this was a no brainer. We all liked it. It is a larger dessert and very good, but meant to share. It is meant to share because this dessert is RICH! So when ordering share it... or pace yourself. We gave this two spoons up!
Seasonal Dessert: This dessert was ok. It was a great concept on paper, but the dessert itself was lack luster. The white chocolate was over powered by the fruit and if you got a spoonful with no fruit then it seemed bland. I wouldn't suggest ordering this, be thankful it is just around for the season. Bravo needs to make room for better desserts. We gave this one spoon up!
Creme Brulee: I have had many Creme Brulees. My first experience was one I had in NYC. It was love at first taste. Since that experience in 1997 I have been searching for a Creme Brulee that could match it. I had never found one... until now. This dessert was caremlized to perfection. It was served at the perfect temperature: cool underneath with a warm top that cracked just oh so perfectly when you slid your spoon in. The crunchy top gave the texture you want and need with a Creme Brulee and the sweetness was not over powering it complimented the custard just right. We gave this three spoons up! (it would have been more if we had more spoons to give).
We will venture back to Bravo! and order the other desserts at some point. But for now, if heading to Bravo! save room for dessert. If you are craving a Creme Brulee - Bravo! should be your destination.
Until next time... ALWAYS save room for dessert!

A Fresh Start and a New Beggining
Hello Internet-world,
We are Dessert Girls. our mission: eat as much dessert as possible and blog about it. Once a month we will go to a Lansing area restaurant get a couple of desserts and tell you about them. Throughout the month if you send in your favorite recipes, we will make them, eat them, and blog about them.
You may be asking yourself, "where did this idea come from?" well, we like to eat dessert, so on Molly's 24th birthday when we went out for dessert we thought, well this would be fun to blog about, so we are. We are looking to have fun, and maybe along the way try some new and interesting things.
And don't worry, we'll be sharing our desserts with you soon :)
